Foundation Options
Built on the Right
Foundation for Your Site

Every fabric building requires a proper concrete foundation — and the right type depends on your soil conditions, building size, local building code, and budget. CoverIT Canada works with your engineer or ours to specify the right foundation for your project. Common options include:

🪨
Precast Concrete Blocks

Low-cost, fast to install. Precast concrete blocks are a popular and practical option for many agricultural and industrial fabric buildings.

Concrete Piers

Individual concrete piers drilled or poured at each frame anchor point. Suitable for a wide range of soil conditions and building sizes.

Concrete Grade Beam

A continuous concrete beam running along the perimeter. Ideal for larger structures requiring a stronger perimeter foundation.

Concrete Pad

A full concrete slab or pad foundation. Provides a clean, level floor surface ideal for workshops and maintenance facilities.

Concrete Wall

A poured or block concrete perimeter wall. Commonly used for permanent municipal and commercial fabric building installations.

📌
Concrete Footings

Individual spread or strip footings below the frost line. Required in many Ontario locations to meet building code for permanent structures.

Step 3 — MegaDome® Series
Select Your
Building Profile

MegaDome® by Harnois™ buildings come in three series. The right choice depends on your required width, interior clearance needs, and intended use. CoverIT Canada will help you choose.

Most Popular Series
DB Series
33 to 100 feet wide — the most versatile MegaDome® series for agricultural, municipal, and industrial use. Available in two profiles:
DB Series — Profile 1
XP Profile
Extra Profile. Slab-level mount — no concrete wall required. Up to 16 feet of interior sidewall clearance. Ideal for warehouse racking, pallet storage, and equipment that needs maximum vertical space.
✓  Widths: 33', 40', 50', 60', 70', 80', 90'
✓  Up to 16' interior sidewall height
✓  Slab-level mount — no foundation wall needed
✓  Most popular profile — great for racking & storage
DB Series — Profile 2
HP Profile
High Profile. Requires a minimum 5-foot concrete wall or two courses of concrete lock-blocks. When mounted, interior height is comparable to an XP slab-mounted building. Cost-effective general-purpose choice.
✓  Widths: 50', 60', 70', 80', 90' (10' increments)
✓  Requires 5' concrete wall or lock-block courses
✓  Versatile & cost-effective for general use
✓  Comparable finished height to XP when mounted
Wide-Span Series
S100 Series
The widest clear-span MegaDome® series. Built for large municipal facilities, industrial warehouses, mining operations, and any application where maximum span is required.
✓  100 to 160 feet wide
✓  Maximum clear-span — no interior columns
✓  Ideal for large municipal & industrial builds
High-Performance Series
AR Series
Designed for complex, demanding project requirements. The AR Series handles specialized applications and challenging site conditions where standard series profiles aren't the right fit.
✓  60 to 100 feet wide
✓  High-performance for demanding applications
✓  Specialized site & project requirements
Step 4 — Access Options
Garage Doors,
Man-Doors & Entrances

Every fabric building needs proper access. CoverIT Canada supplies and installs a full range of door options on the front endwall, rear endwall, and side walls of your building.

🚪
Overhead Garage Doors

Standard and custom-sized overhead sectional garage doors installed on the front or rear endwall. Available in manual and motorized configurations to suit your operation.

🔑
Man-Doors / Personnel Doors

Single personnel entry doors installed on the front endwall, rear endwall, or side walls. Insulated steel doors with hardware included. Required by code for emergency egress on larger buildings.

🔃
Roll-Up Doors

Heavy-duty roll-up doors for agricultural and industrial applications. Lower profile than overhead sectional doors — ideal where vertical clearance above the opening is limited.

Sliding Doors

Large-opening sliding doors for equipment and livestock access. Available in single or bi-parting configurations. Common on agricultural barns and equestrian facilities.

🟰
Side Wall Entrances

Garage doors and man-doors can also be positioned on the side walls of your building — useful when the endwalls are not accessible or when you need multiple entry points along the building length.

🔲
Open Endwalls

Some applications — equipment storage, covered arenas, canopy structures — are best served with a fully open endwall or a partial endwall with no doors. We engineer for any configuration.
